The Fredericton Horsemen’s Association will be hosting its annual Awards Banquet and Wall of Fame Induction Ceremonies on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Fredericton Motor Inn beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Guest speaker for the banquet will be Dr. Ian Moore, head of the equine ambulatory services of U.P.E.I. and co-owner and trainer of Little Brown Jug winner Shadow Play. Last season, Shadow Play captured the 'Jug' in World Record fashion and was also victorious in the Hoosier Cup and Adios Stakes on the way to winning over $1 million in purses.

The inductees to the harness racing Wall of Fame will be the Williamson Stable (Jack and Elsa Williamson) and track record holder Shannon Commander, owned by Ashley and Joan Sloat.

Master of Ceremonies will be Fredericton’s Chris Connor, who recently moved home after a 10-year stint with the Woodbine Entertainment Group.

Tickets for the banquet are $35 per person and are available at the Fredericton Exhibition office or from members of the horsemen’s association until February 19.
