Jim Burke went to the front and didn’t look back with Lil Kim, who halted the teletimer in 1:56.2 in Sunday’s $15,000 Fillies & Mares Open at Fraser Downs

Lil Kim, who turned a two-hole trip into a 1:54 score in last week’s edition of the class, marched through panels of :27.4, :58.2 and 1:26.4 before finishing off her foes with a :29.3 final frame.
The Robert Merschback trainee held on to win by three-quarters of a length over Judges Acenthehole. Third prize went to Lil Deuce Coop.
Sent off as the 3-5 favorite, Lil Kim visited the winner’s circle for the 19th time in her career while pushing her bankroll near the $200,000 plateau for owner Robert Murphy of Surrey, British Columbia.
