Make it back-to-back wins in the Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 class at Flamboro Downs for Saulsbrook Jessie thanks to her 1:56 triumph in Thursday’s $13,000 feature race.
Just as he did last week, driver Brett MacDonald hustled Saulsbrook Jessie to the early lead and once they took charge they didn’t look back.
The Ron MacDonald trainee sailed through fractions of :28.2, :57.3 and 1:26.2 before using a :29.3 closing panel to win by a neck over Custard Lite in 1:56. Cousin Mary took home the show dough.
Ed Gorc of Sudbury, ON owns the five-year-old daughter of Big Jim-Atlanta Girl who improved her seasonal record to 7-8-3 from 30 starts with the win. The 18-time winner pushed her lifetime earnings over $170,000 in the process.
