Dale, Brendan and Allen Cook's Spinferno completed a sweep of her Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund preliminary legs for sophomore pacing fillies with a 1:54.3 score on Wednesday (Dec. 9) at Dover Downs.
In the first of two $20,000 divisions, Spinferno coasted to a 1-1/4-length victory over Spin Sumthin and Cinder Rock. Tim Tetrick once again drove the Virginia Louthan-bred daughter of No Spin Zone and Hurrican Jenna, who earned her fourth win in five starts thus far for trainer Chuck Crissman Jr.
The second division saw Sweet Lil narrowly hold sway in 1:57 over first-round winner Foolish Wisdom and Shes Got The Lynx. Tony Morgan drove the Josephine Vincent-bred daughter of Art Director and Blissful Lil for trainer Jason Skinner and owner George Minner.
The top eight point earners in the three-year-old pacing filly division will contest a $100,000 final next Thursday (Dec. 17). Those fillies are: Spinferno, Foolish Wisdom, Sweet Lil, Cinder Rock, Spin Sumthin, Shes Got The Lynx, Im Two Soxy and Bashful Smile.
