Red Shores' leading-driver Marc Campbell sat patiently before striking in the $2,550 Preferred Pace at Charlottetown Driving Park, winning with Rose Run Quest in 1:56.3 on Saturday, December 9.
Sitting fifth, Rose Run Quest stalked while Winter Blast set fractions of :27.4 and :57.1, but soon gave way to the first-over advance of Heart And Soul. Rose Run Quest, picking up the second-over position, drew into contention by three-quarters in 1:27.2 before swooping to control and to a three-and-three-quarter lengths victory over Heart And Soul and Forever Paradise.
Marc Campbell trains Rose Run Quest for owner Blair Hansen of Charlottetown. Winning his seventh race in 23 starts this season and his 18th in 74 overall, the five-year-old If I Can Dream gelding returned $5.50.
Prettyndangerous won the $2,000 top-mares class with a 1:58.1 victory for driver Adam Merner and co-owner and trainer Bo Ford with co-owner Arnold Myers of Charlottetown.
Czar Seelster won the $2,100 co-featured pace in 1:56.3 for trainer-driver Todd Weatherbee and owner Tammy Johnston of Stratford.
