Prism K hustled to the lead from Post 7 and didn’t look back en route to equalling the track record for aged geldings in the $25,000 Preferred Trot on Tuesday at The Meadows.
The mile of 1:54.2 tied the mark set by Sweet Deal Hanover and Bill Zendt in 2005.
Prism K had won two of his past four races in front-end fashion, so it was no surprise that Dave Palone wanted the lead with the five-year-old son of Dream Vacation.
What was surprising was how easily Prism K dismissed all challengers. He cruised home to win by three-quarters of a length over Pembroke Prayer. Oatmeister shot up the pylons to finish third.
Steve Bush trains Prism K and owns with James and Mark Zallenick of Carnegie, PA. It was one of five wins on the 15-race card for Palone.
