If Only Id Known rode the pocket trip to her second win in a row in the top distaff ranks at Fraser Downs, taking the $10,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred on Thursday, Dec. 7.
Scott Knight and the Kelly Hoerdt-trained mare followed every step on the helmet of stablemate Century Mach (Hoerdt), as she handed out panels in :27.4, :57.3 and 1:26.2. The stretch drive produced a blanket finish at the wire as If Only Id Known defeated Pirate Booty (Terry Kaufan) by a nose in 1:55.1. Century Mach was bested by a nose, too, and had to settle for third.
Earning her third win in a row and third seasonal win from 15 starts, If Only Id Known (Shadow Play-Michelles Fury) moved her career win count to 16 with $173,693 in career earnings. Christopher Lancaster and Velda Olding co-own the winner. She paid $4 to win as the even-odds favourite.
Hoerdt had four training wins on the card, also posting wins with Chuck You Farlie ($2.40), driven by himself; Diva Amour ($2.30), driven by David Hudon; and Jamaica Move ($11.20), driven by himself.
