At its meeting last Friday (Dec. 4), the Association of Racing Commissioners International Board of Directors added 18 substance classifications and recommended penalties to the ARCI Uniform Classification document that is the basis for the anti-doping and medication control program for horse racing regulatory authorities.

The substances were added upon the recommendation of the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium's Scientific Advisory Committee with the concurrence of the ARCI Scientific Advisory Group.

The complete list of added substances can be found in the following PDF, or by clicking here:

A new version of the Uniform Classification Guidelines for Foreign Substances and Recommended Penalties that will contain these additions will be published shortly on the ARCI website, along with recent changes to the Model Rules of Racing.
