Kentuckiana Farms is excited to announce that The Pres will stand the 2010 breeding season at Kentuckiana

Farms of Ontario, located at Emerald Ridge Farm of Rockwood, Ontario. Kentuckiana Farms will serve as Stallion Manager and along with Emerald Ridge Farm will manage his breeding career.

The Pres 3, 1:55.1f ($140,871), a stunning $400,000 weanling, comes to Ontario as the most prolific bred son of super-sire Andover Hall. The Pres, a stakes winner of over $140,000, is the first foal of the great Southwind Allaire, a multiple stakes winner of $876,199 at 2 and 3. Southwind Allaire had a remarkable racing career having finished in the money in 20 of 24 career starts. Her career wins include the Hambletonian Oaks, Matron, Elegantimage, Simcoe, and Colonial Lady. The immediate family of The Pres includes such greats as Pizza Dolce; 1:52.4 ($668,824); Mars Bar ($432,535); Creamy Mimi ($929,193); Bella Dolce ($753,133); Araine Du Haras ($403,736); Armbro Éclair ($187,443); Echo Hanover ($304,538); and Cake Rattle N Roll ($220,475) to name of few. The Pres hails from one of leading commercial families in harness racing with more than 15 $100,000 plus yearlings having been sold in recent years.

Although The Pres showed tremendous speed and ability, and possessed an extremely efficient gait, his harness racing career was cut short by an injury at 3. The Pres recorded a two-year old record of 1:57.3 in Lexington while trotting a :27.1 last quarter. At 3, The Pres, while trotting to his record of 1:55.1f, earned 3 wins and a second in only 7 starts. The Pres was a winner of two PASS legs and finished second in his third PASS event. In what may have been his most impressive career start while prepping for the Hambletonian, The Pres was narrowly defeated by the great Deweycheatumnhowe, trotting his mile in an impressive 1:53.4. Unable to overcome lingering complications from surgery, The Pres’ racing career was cut short at 3 after and impressive win in the $150,000 Zweig Stake at Tioga Downs.

“I was fortunate to drive The Pres when he won the Zweig. He is an extremely impressive athlete and it was easy to see why he was a $400,000 weanling. It is unfortunate that he was injured and could not compete at 100%. The Pres should be a real value play for breeders in Canada,” says driver Andy Miller.

The 2010 service fee for THE PRES will be $2,500.00 CA. As an incentive for breeders, a discounted fee of $1,750CA will be available if paid on a positive 42-days pregnancy test (live foal guarantee with stud fee refundable-terms apply).
