Pinner Wins Charlottetown Feature

Pinner, with Marc Campbell in the bike, won the Saturday afternoon top class in a sparkling 1:57.4 over the off track at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The victory was the third in a row for Pinner, who is trained by Brian Ladner and co-owned by Kevin and Lillian Ladner of Charlottetown.

Campbell, who enjoyed a driving triple on the day, fired Pinner off the gate from post three and carved out fractions of :28.4, :58.3 and 1:27.4 before turning back first over Blu Meadow Willie (Gilles Barrieau) for his eighth victory of 2013. Doll R General (Mark McKinnon) was second off a pocket trip with Ultimate Luck (Kenny Arsenault) finishing third.

Majian Chester won the trot class for Jim Ripley in 2:04.1 while Ton Of Luck and driver Brian MacPhee won the Drew Power Memorial Pace in 2:00.4. MacPhee, who recorded a driving double on the program, engineered the winning trip for the Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B.
