Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey President Tom Luchento received an appreciation award from Harness Horsemen International on Saturday, December 3
, 2011 at the Embassy Suites Resort and Spa in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
“It is very gratifying to me to be recognized by my peers who understand so well the challenges we have faced and many of whom have provided us with their encouragement and support,” Luchento told the HHI conference attendees. “We are beginning to see the daylight and look forward to a future in which New Jersey’s racing will regain its position of prominence.”
Other honourees included Jeff Gural, with the Dominic Frinzi Person of the Year Award, Gerry Connors, with an HHI Appreciation Award, and Sam McKee with the Clyde Hirt Media Award.
