Forward Faced A Big Choice

Being the dash leading driver at a track can often bring the question of which horse to drive when many good ones are offered at the time of entry.

The 10th race on the Monday afternoon, December 8 program at Western Fair presented that dilemma to Brad Forward. The reinsman is seeking to reclaim the track’s cash and dash titles he surrendered in 2007 to Jason Brewer. In this Preferred-2 Pace affair, Forward settled on Blissed Out from Post 4. He was also offered 7-5 morning line choice Must Be Matt and 5-2 second choice Always Western.

Monday’s program figures to conclude with an explosive edition of the $18,400 purse Preferred Pace. The 5-2 morning line choice in post one is Michigan invader C B Tower sent over to London by trainer Eric Beach. Right beside on the gate will be 3-1 second choice Pacific Oak and the last time winner in this class, XLB Patrick, has drawn Post 5 for this test.

Through December, post time at Western Fair each Monday and Tuesday afternoon is at 3:05 p.m. eastern, and at 7:05 p.m. each Friday and Saturday evening.

The holiday season will see the traditional Boxing Day matinee convene at 1:15 p.m. and the New Year’s Eve live performance start at 7:05 p.m. There is no live card at Western Fair on Saturday, December 27.
