Winbak Farm of Delaware has announced that Nutcracker Sweet, p, 2, 1:50.2; 1:50.1f ($527,704) will be standing in Delaware in 2024.

“When the opportunity presented itself to acquire Nutcracker Sweet, I thought he would be a fantastic addition to the Delaware program,” said Jack Burke, Winbak Farm General Manager. “He is the complete package with great looks, a phenomenal pedigree and a fast record at two.”

As a yearling, Nutcracker Sweet sold at the 2016 Harrisburg sale for $150,000.

Eight-year-old pacing stallion Nutcracker Sweet won 19 races in his career. At two, he won a Bluegrass Stakes division in 1:50.3 and an International Stallion Stakes division in 1:50.2 (last quarters in :27 and :27.1, respectively) at The Red Mile. He was second in Governor's Cup elimination at The Meadowlands (timed in 1:51.1 with a :26.2 last quarter) and two Pennsylvania Sires Stakes legs, and was third in a Metro Pace elimination.

At three, Nutcracker Sweet was second in the Max C. Hempt Memorial elimination and final (timed in 1:48.3) at Pocono Downs and a North America Cup elimination at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and was third in a Pennsylvania Sires Stakes leg.

“Nutcracker Sweet competed against and beat standouts such as American History, Dorsoduro Hanover, Lather Up, Stay Hungry and This Is The Plan,” said Joe Thomson, Winbak Farm Owner. “Nutcracker Sweet offers breeders an affordable opportunity to breed to a stallion with a Hall of Fame pedigree and stakes-winning career.”

Nutcracker Sweet is a son of U.S. Hall Of Fame broodmare inductee Sweet Future. Her offspring have earned more than $7.7 million.

“Nutcracker Sweet is a Bettors Delight son of a mare whose offspring include two double millionaires,” said Thomson. “His sisters have also produced millionaires, including Captain Crunch, whose first crop included 2023 Breeders Crown winner Gem Quality.”

Nutcracker Sweet is a half-brother to USHWA Dan Patch Award winner Sweet Lou, p, 2, 1:49s; 3, 1:47.4s; 1:47f ($3,484,251), who is the sire of seven millionaires including 2023 standout Confederate, p, 3, 1:46.1 ($2,189,429). Nutcracker Sweet is a full-brother to Bettor Sweet, p, 2, Q2:00.1; 3, 1:49.3; 1:47.2 ($2,816,687), and a half-brother to the dams of Captain Crunch, p, 2, 1:49.1; 3, 1:47.2s ($1,725,495) and Youaremycandygirl, p, 2, 1:50; 3, 1:48.2 ($1,647,229).

“Nutcracker Sweet should be a great cross for many leading bloodlines, including American Ideal, Art Major, Badlands Hanover, Dragon Again, Roddys Bags Again, Somebeachsomewhere and Western Ideal,” said Burke. “If any breeders have questions, the Winbak Farm team is available to help with potential crosses and broodmare management tips.”

Nutcracker Sweet has bred a handful of foals in New Jersey while racing over the last few years.

He will stand for $3,000 USD at Winbak Farm of Delaware for the 2024 breeding season.
