Biletnikoff burst to the front, then held off his stablemate, Jojo N Goliath, late to capture his second straight victory in Tuesday’s $22,500 Preferred Pace at The Meadows
.
Biletnikoff and Aaron Merriman worked out a comfortable front half of :57 over the sloppy surface and parried the first-over thrust of Tuneariffic. Jojo N Goliath, who was riding Tuneariffic’s cover, brushed wide through the lane, only to fall a nose short. Tuneariffic was third. Time for the mile was 1:52.3.
Trainer Paul Kennedy swept the exacta while Biletnikoff triumphed for the fourth time in his last five starts and extended his career bankroll to $646,551. Markus Ernst owns Biletnikoff, a seven-year-old Keystone Raider-Strikadeeze gelding.
Dave Palone drove four winners and Merriman three on the 15-race card.
