OSS graduate Boulder Creek picked up the 40th win of his career thanks to a rock solid performance in Saturday’s $24,000 Preferred at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
Dan Dube engineered the winning trip with Boulder Creek, who looped to the lead shortly after Armbro Durable threw down a :27.4 opening quarter.
Once in command, the eight-year-old son of Pacific Rocket generated splits of :56.2 and 1:25.4 before roaring home in :26.3 to post the 1:52.2 clocking. Noble Falcon, who was sent off as the 1-5 favourite, was second best and Super Eighty Eight was third.
Mark Kesmodel conditions the iron tough veteran for owner Larry Baron of Horsham, PA. The $12,000 payday lifted Boulder Creek’s earnings to $3,752,254.
