Great Canadian Gaming Corporation Vice President Howard Blank has gone on the record in regard to the idea of incorporating a sportsbook into casinos that his company currently operates

.

Blank's comments have come via an article by The Vancouver Sun which discusses Windsor-Tecumseh MP Joe Comartin's private member’s bill which would legalize wagering on single-game sporting events in Canada.

Blank does not specifically make reference to the idea of introducing sportsbooks to GCGC racetracks, but he did comment on the concept of adding sportsbooks to the company's casino offerings. Great Canadian operates Fraser Downs and Hastings Racecourse in British Columbia, and Flamboro Downs and Georgian Downs in Ontario

“We already have racebooks at our casinos so it would be a very simple change to add in the sports component,” Blank was quoted as saying.

He was also quoted as saying, “There’s a definite correlation between people who love racing and people who love sports betting,” and that, “They treat it like a science and study all the factors, which they believe gives them an edge up on the odds.”
