Trot Insider has received an update on the two drivers that were unseated in an accident at the start of Kawartha Downs' fifth race on Saturday evening.
In the incident Sandy Hook Road and driver Tim Curtis cleared to command from post six, but the trotter appeared to take a bad step and fell taking out the first over Pondo Vec and driver Rick Webb. Both Curtis and Webb were thrown from their racebikes.
According to Kawartha Downs' Jim Huck, driver Tim Curtis went to the hospital, was checked out and released. Rick Webb suffered cracked ribs, a fractured knee and a torn rotator cuff. After spending the weekend in hospital in Cobourg, Webb is scheduled to be transferred to Peterborough Hospital. He is in good spirits despite his injuries.
Please join Standardbred Canada in wishing speedy and full recoveries to both Tim Curtis and Rick Webb.
