It has been reported that on Monday, December 2 a House Committee in Illinois approved an agreement that would see the looming crisis in the state’s horse racing industry averted.

The report, which appears on WICS ABC Newschannel 20, explains that the measure (Bill SB66) was approved by the House Committee on Monday and could be addressed on the floor today (Tuesday, December 3).

The agreement which led to the bill was reached in November between the state’s horsemen, racetracks and Advance Deposit Wagering (ADW) outlets.

The agreement would see ADW law in the state extended three years beyond its upcoming January 31 expiration.
