After having not raced since the fall of 2005, former Breeders Crown champion Armbro Affair has been putting in some work this holiday season
.
This morning at Windsor Raceway, the 10-year-old Garland Lobell mare put forth her second consecutive qualifying effort for trainer co-owner Bob McIntosh.
With pilot Ronald Henderson calling the shots once again, the 2004 'Crown' winner started from Post 6 and led the field through fractions of :29, 1:00.4 and 1:31. Armbro Affair sprinted off in the final quarter of the tilt, eventually stopping the clock in 2:02, more than six lengths in front of her closest rival.
From 33 career races, Armbro Affair compiled a record of 12-5-5, earned $462,826 in purses and took her mark of 1:53.4 over Woodbine Racetrack at the age of four. Her greatest accomplishment came at the Meadowlands Racetrack in 2004 when she held on to win the Breeders Crown Mare Trot by a neck in 1:54.1.
McIntosh owns Armbro Affair along with CSX Stables of Liberty Center, Ohio.
Why not keep her retired.
