In a New York Times article which acted as a lead-in to Monticello Raceway's Au Revoir, Tattlers Jet's trainer, Gene Miller, stated that one of the main reasons his veteran pacer has held up all of these years is due to proper nutrition.
“Proper nutrition. That’s a big thing," Miller was quoted as saying. "I only feed the whole grains — corn, oats, barley, soybean — and good quality hay.”
“One thing about Gene is he likes to race,” said Tattlers Jet's breeder/owner, David Carter. “And he’ll get ’em ready for you. He’s an honest trainer. He don’t give them no drugs or anything.”
