An ultra-competitive field of 11 lined up behind the starting gate in Saturday night’s featured tilt at The Meadowlands.
Uva Hanover shot to the early lead and had the field chasing her past the quarter pole in :27.2. Il Mago was parked into the backstretch, and Hyway Marcus was hustled up three-wide in a bid for the lead. Il Mago cleared, but was quickly overtaken by Hyway Marcus who took them to the half in :56.2.
Uva Hanover was brought back to the outside in the backstretch, and she showed a short lead while racing parked just ahead of Hyway Marcus at the three-quarter marker in 1:25.1. Tweet Me and Cash Me Out made late bids in the lane, with Cash Me Out storming home in :27.2 to win by a length over Tweet Me in 1:53.3. Uva Hanover had to settle for third prize.
The win was the 13th in the career of Cash Me Out whose earnings reached $439,649 with the victory. He is owned by Traylor Racing L.L.C. and conditioned by Kyle Spagnola. Jonathan Roberts was the winning driver.
Saturday’s 15-race card featured 160 starters for an average field size of over 10 horses. What could be better? The answer, massive payouts.
The Pick 5 returned $26,555 as a result of just one correct winning ticket yielding all five winners. In the same race, the jackpot super hi-five was also hit and that returned $19,409 for a $.20 cent play.
Through the first seven races there was only one winning favourite and the list of winners included 63-1 longshot Celebrity Massive, 25-1 Celebrity Pegasus and 23-1 Alibi Seelster.
The run of longshot also produced an Early Pick Four payout of $17,426.
