The World Trade Center Institute Awards’ Review Committee has selected Joe Thomson, owner of Winbak Farm, to be one of six awarded with Maryland’s 17th Annual International Leadership Award on March 6, 2013.
The committee remarked on Winbak Farm’s accomplishments and strong growth record as being reasons why the farm is a model for other Maryland firms on the global horizon.
Select committee members interviewed Thomson at his Winbak Farm of Maryland, where they also learned about the operations and enjoyed a tour of the farm’s divisions.
Of Maryland’s 150,000 firms, Winbak Farm and six other firms stood out as Maryland’s exemplary International Leadership Award winners for 2013. These include:
- Miltec UV – Robert Blandford – President
- Canam Steel Corporation – Mary Gordon – President & Corporate Controller
- Johns Hopkins Medicine International – Steve Thompson – President
- Premier Rides, Inc. – Jim Seay – President & Founder
- Earth Networks – Robert Marshall – President & CEO
- Chrysler Group, LLC – John Griffin – International Port Operations
Thomson will be honoured at Maryland’s 17th Annual International Business Leadership Awards ceremony. The ceremony will take place from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at The Jim Rouse Visionary Center in Baltimore on March 6. The event will host nearly 400 of the area’s top business leaders, including the Governor of Maryland.
