The highly competitive weekly Hollywood Dayton $30,000 Mares Open produced yet another winner on Thursday as Rose Run Vision triumphed in 1:53.
Somebodyslilly (Brandon Bates), winner of the previous two Opens, left alertly from an assigned outside post position to lead the field through fractions of :26.1, :56.3 and 1:24 before yielding to Rose Run Vision, who enjoyed a two-hole trip throughout for driver Trevor Smith. Marloe Hanover (Brett Miller) was best of the rest in the talented nine-horse field to finish third.
Trainer Don Eash’s Eash Racing Stable owns the four-year-old Time To Roll lass who has 22 on-the-board finishes in 35 seasonal starts, including seven wins. Her 2021 earnings climbed to $128,720 with the victory.
A $24,000 Mares Open II pace was also contested with Mildrix (Josh Sutton) emerging victorious in 1:53.2. The six-year-old daughter of Real Desire also used the front-stepping strategy to best Voluptuous (Dan Noble) and GD Rockin Kay (Mitch Cushing).
The Peter Redder trainee has nine wins on the year and increased her career bounty to $289,706 with her 22nd triumph. Mildrix is owned by her trainer in partnership with Wilfong Racing LLC.
Following a three-day Christmas break, the final week of the annual Hollywood Dayton meet will include 2:00 matinees on Monday through Thursday, Dec. 27-30.
