Driver Gene Piroski ruled the roost at Windsor Raceway on Tuesday evening thanks to a five-win performance on the border oval’s 12-race card.
Piroski, who is flirting with his first $1 million season, notched a natural hat trick in the middle of the program and tacked on two more wins for good measure. He has put up career-best numbers in 2008 when it comes to winning races and money.
He was kept off the score sheet in the first three races before putting together a three-race win streak with More Dreams (2:02.3), Winbak View (2:01.1) and L M Santana (2:02.1) in Races 4 through 6.
A score in Race 10 with Senceless (2:01.2) bumped his win total to four and number five came in the finale with Stoney River (2:03.4).
To date, Piroski has reined in 1,359 winners while banking just over $7.4 million in purse earnings.
