Fans were treated to a 12-race program Monday evening at Woodbine Racetrack, and over the course of the night 12 different trainers found their way to victory lane.
With money spread around among a variety of conditioners, it was more of the same when it came to the reinsmen in action for Monday’s program.
Only James MacDonald managed to visit victory lane on more than occasion. In fact, he made three trips to the winner’s circle – with the remaining nine races going to nine different sulky sitters.
Fans playing exotic wagers on the Monday evening card had a chance to take home some serious spending money if they had the winning combinations on the Pick-5 and the early Pick-4 wager.
The Pick-5 combination of 8-8-1-10-1 kicked back a healthy return of $5,361.30 for a $1 wager, while the early Pick-4 combination of 10-1-6-7 paid $4,147.45 for a $1 wager.
Harness racing returns to the Rexdale, Ont. oval on Boxing Day. That matinee features a 13-race program which gets underway at 1 p.m.
