Hat Trick For Some Kinda Beach

Some Kinda Beach made it three straight victories when he endured a demanding first quarter and triumphed convincingly in Monday’s $20,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

Assigned post 8, Some Kinda Beach dueled with Stonebridge Adam through a :26.3 opening panel before grabbing the lead. Eric Goodell gave Some Kinda Beach a :29.3 second-quarter breather, and the five-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere-Arts Fantasy was plenty strong in the stretch, downing the first-over Dew N Doughnuts by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:51.2. Stonebridge Adam saved show.

Paul Kennedy trains Some Kinda Beach, who extended his career bankroll to $256,782, for Keith Pippi.

Tony Hall piloted four winners on the 16-race card while Jim Pantaleano and trainer Randy Bendis each fashioned a triple.

On Tuesday, Dec. 22, the live card at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino will offer two total-pool guarantees — a $7,500 guarantee for the Pick 5 and a $5,000 guarantee for the Pick 4. Both are offered as part of the United States Trotting Association's Strategic Wagering Initiative.

While the $5,000 Pick 4 guarantee is a regular feature each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, The Meadows added the “instant” Pick 5 guarantee after Monday’s Pick 5 was uncovered, resulting in a two-day carryover of $2,218.52.

Minimum wager for the Pick 4 (races 4-7) and Pick 5 (races 12-16) is 50 cents. Since Pennsylvania law requires a minimum per-race wager of $2, a player wagering at the 50-cent level must bet at least four tickets.

First post for Tuesday’s program is 12:55 p.m.
