Jimmy Takter and George Brennan have been voted the Glen Garnsey Trainer of the Year and the Driver of the Year, respectively, in balloting recently conducted by the United States Harness Writers Association

.

Horsepeople dream of winning the Hambletonian for three-year-old trotters, and this year Takter visited that famed victory lane with Muscle Massive, who took down trotting’s biggest prize. Takter also won another leg of the Trotting Triple Crown, the Yonkers Trot, with On The Tab.

Takter continued his pattern of recent years by sending out more and more stakes-winning pacers, including the sensational undefeated two-year-old pacing filly See You At Peelers, the Breeders Crown winner. In all, the big barn headquartered at Millennium Farm in New Jersey produced 119 winners (as of press time), $7.9 million in purses, and carried the conditioner up to a very lofty .371 trainer rating.

In regard to Brennan, he made waves all season long with Shark Gesture, who dominated the free-for-all pacing ranks for much of the campaign. Kentucky Futurity winner Wishing Stone was also one of Brennan's mounts. During the 2010 campaign, Brennan became only the 11th driver to have steered his mounts to $100 million in career purse earnings.

The 2010 campaign also saw Brennan rise to the very top of the standings at the Meadowlands. He recorded 247 wins this season at the cherished oval, which helped him achieve another personal milestone: 6,000 career driving victories.
