Reid’s Internet Poker Bill Dead

The internet poker bill introduced by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is dead

.

The bill's fate came after the failure of a tax relief bill to which it had been attached in the final hours of this year’s session.

With control of the House Financial Services Committee likely passing from Democrat Barney Frank, who strongly favours internet gaming, to Republican Spencer Bachus, who vigorously opposes it, in the new Congress, chances of passage in the foreseeable future seem dim.
