Yankee No and Turbo Jam captured their respective Invitational events on Sunday afternoon at Sulky Trois Rivieres, as the Quebec half-miler played host to a solid 14-race program.

Driver Stephane Gendron, who finished the day with four wins, engineered the winning trip with the Colin Johnson-trained stablemates.

Yankee No used off-the-pace tactics to take home top prize in the $14,000 Invitational Trot.

The 10-year-old son of Promising Catch brushed his way to command in the late stages of the mile and drew off to win by more than three lengths in a time of 2:04.2. Sent off as the even-money favourite, the veteran defeated Lemon Drop and Le Point.

Johnson holds the papers on the 36-time winner, who has put together a 13-9-2 record from 39 trips postward this season. He has banked more than $71,000 in earnings this season and more than $390,000 lifetime.

Turbo Jam sliced out splits of :29.2, 1:00.1 and 1:30 before holding off a late rush from runner-up Under Wraps en route to stopping the teletimer in 2:00.4 in the $14,000 Invitational Pace. Race favourite Northern Passage was third.

Johnson holds the papers on the four-year-old son of Chief Marty, who improved to 4-2-4 in 21 starts this campaign. His overall earnings climbed to $46,145 with the win.
