Caviart Cherie took a 1:50.1 lifetime mark in the $11,600 distaff handicap pacing feature Wednesday (Dec. 2) at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

Anthony Napolitano got sharp gate speed out of Caviart Cherie and she went right to the lead, forcing favoured New Year to tuck behind her before then yielding to Eclipse Me N after a :26.1 quarter. Eclipse Me N hit the half in :54.4 before New Year advanced to force a 1:22 three-quarters.

As New Year took the lead in early stretch, Napolitano tipped Caviart Cherie wide and stepped by her to win by 2-1/4 lengths. The six-year-old daughter of Well Said posted her third win in her last four starts for trainer Darren Taneyhill and the Wildcard Stable Inc.

Royaltywestho went to the lead early in a $10,000 distaff sub-feature pace, backed off the half to :57.1, then was uncatchable as she finished out the mile in 1:53.3, 1-1/2 lengths better than favoured Apple Bottom Jeans. Yannick Gingras drove the Ron Burke trainee for Burke Racing Stable LLC and Weaver-Bruscemi LLC.

Two $11,200 events for developing distaff pacers served as supporting events on the card, with Rydia Hanover (1:54.2, Todd McCarthy) and Moaning Lisa (1:52.3, Dexter Dunn) proving victorious.
