Mare Beats Boys In Meadows Feature; Wilder Wins Five

Unefoisdansmavie, the only mare in the field, stalked patiently from the pocket and then roared by in the Lightning Lane to capture Monday’s $18,000 Preferred Trot at The Meadows.

Unefoisdansmavie, the 3-5 favourite, let Count Me In do all the heavy lifting on the lead before brushing late for Dave Palone and downing Count Me In by half a length in 1:53.3. The ground-saving Redder Than Red was third.

A six-year-old daughter of Revenue S-Peace To The World, Unefoisdansmavie has been a model of excellence and consistency for trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Jack Piatt III. In 2012, she won nine races and $149,325; this year, she’s won nine races and $148,085.

Mike Wilder drove five winners and Palone four on the 15-race card while Burke enjoyed a triple.
