It has been reported that down under conditioner Mark Purdon has Auckland Reactor back in training, and is hoping to forget what happened when the career winner of $944,703 came to race in the United States

.

An article by the New Zealand Herald states, 'Purdon has the one-time wonder horse back in work after a disastrous past 13 months which has seen him go from being rated one of our greatest-ever pacers to a joke in the Northern Hemisphere and then a stalled stallion career.'

The report says that Auckland Reactor is being pointed to the Auckland Cup and Interdominions in March and April. The report also indicates that Auckland Reactor has undergone throat surgery and that there has been a partial change in regard to his ownership.

"If it was the throat that was troubling him all along then maybe the operation will clear that up," Purdon was quoted as saying.

"Either way it is great to have him back and I have to forget about what has happened and just train him like I did in the past.

"That is the only option I really have and if he comes back to his best, great."

Although I never got to see him race live here in North America -- he was an amazing horse to watch. So looking forward to seeing him race again!!! I'm sure he'll be back in his great form again -- he's back home (think he might have been a little homesick).
