Longtime harness racing industry participant Norman Lloyd of Almonte, Ont. passed away on Feb. 9, 2023 at Kingston General Hospital at the age of 91.

A horseman with six decades of activity, Lloyd campaigned performers the likes of Kennedy Avenue and Brighton Lobell, one of his personal favourites as he fondly recalled the trotter earning a new lifetime mark at Woodbine Racetrack. Another personal highlight was winning the Hank Fess Memorial at Norfolk Fair.

Present at the final day of racing at Elmira Raceway and the first day of racing at Grand River Raceway, Norman enjoyed the connection from other horsepeople during his racing days, appreciating the helpful nature of the horse racing community.

Lloyd is survived by four children.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the family and friends of Norman Lloyd.
