Bunny Mach continued her perfect streak while racing for trainer Sean MacSwain on Wednesday afternoon as she notched her fifth consecutive victory at Flamboro Downs.
With three-time Wednesday winner Robert Shepherd in the sulky, Bunny Mach fired to command from post seven in the eight-horse field and went wire-to-wire in 1:56.1. Pocket-sitter Indeman (J.R. Plante) came within a quarter length of the winner down the stretch while Puff Mommy (James MacDonald) trailed seven lengths back in third. The 2-1 favourite returned $6.30 to her backers.
Two wins into her current streak on Nov. 27, the seven-year-old daughter of Mach Three was claimed for $10,000 at Western Fair District by MacSwain.
Wednesday's score was the 11th this year for the mare and 26th lifetime, pushing her career bankroll to $227,439.
The 11th race triumph capped off a perfect day for MacSwain, who also scored with his other starter, Terem Up Louie, earlier on the card. The win was the sophomore Rambaran gelding's second in a row.
