Entering the card, Crowe had one up on Ellis, but had to settle for runner-up honours at the end of the day as Ellis pushed ahead with a pair of victories. Ellis tied Crowe's 45 win total aboard William Turner's N S Acadian with a 2:02.1 wire-to-wire score in the ninth race and then captured the featured $1,225 Winners Over Pace with the pocket-pulling San Marco Hanover in 1:59.1 to close out the season with 46 victories.
