Fort Erie Deal Struck

According to a report, a deal has been struck which will see racing at the Fort Erie Racetrack for thoroughbreds come under the control of a not-for-profit entity

A report by the Niagara Falls Review states that a deal has been worked out with track owner Nordic Gaming Corp., the Ontario Racing Commission, the Town of Fort Erie and the Ontario government.

As part of the deal, there will be a three-year lease of track, during which time there will be a pilot program implemented that will see live quarter-horse racing contested at the border oval.

Fantastic news ,I attend Fort Erie on Sundays , it would have been a great loss for not only the town of For Erie but for racing in Ontario, hopefully this deal will be a solid one.
