Jennas Pass converted from the perfect pocket trip to prevail in the $13,000 Showdown #1 on Wednesday night at Northlands Park.

The two-year-old Freedoms Pass filly, who went off at odds of 9-1, tucked into the two-hole under the guidance of Ron Graham as the 2-5 favourite, Sealedwithakiss (Keith Clark), claimed her place on the front-end. The field marched single-file past the first quarter in :28.4 and the half in 1:00.1 before Nazko Finally (Gerry Hudon) moved off the rail from third for the challenge. Sealedwithakiss revved her engine reaching the third quarter station in 1:29.1, but Jennas Pass sprang into action cruising home in 1:58.2.

Sealedwithapromise finished over three lengths back in second and Nazko Finally was third.

Jennas Pass is trained by Joe O’Brien for the Battle River Stables and Timothy McCoy of Edmonton, Alta. The $1,300 Alberta Yearling Sale purchase scored her second win in five outings pushing her earnings to $32,111.

The daughter of Northern Dynasty followed the even-money favourite, Gts Lizzy (Bill Tainsh, Jr.), through panels of :28.3, 1:00.1 and 1:30.3 before surging on by for the win in 2:00.1.

Lynettes Legacy (Ron Graham) finished over a length behind the 4-1 shot. Gts Lizzy stayed for third.
