The Ashley Gamester stable enjoyed a standout day on Sunday, Dec. 15, at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. The afternoon's highlight came with a victory in the Preferred Pace, as Bee Two Bee took home the win.
Circling from the backfield, Bee Two Bee surged in the stretch to overtake pacesetter No Plan Intended (David Dowling) and win the $4,200 Preferred Pace in a time of 1:54.1. No Plan Intended finished a strong second, while Blood Money (Gilles Barrieau) completed the top three.
Despite being the fourth choice on the tote board, Bee Two Bee delivered a thrilling win, contributing to a $551.50 triactor payout.
Bee Two Bee is a seven-year-old pacer by Sunshine Beach out of Bee Fullof Steinam. Jason Hughes drove for owners Donald MacRae and Blair MacLauchlan. With this win, Bee Two Bee now boasts 32 lifetime wins and a bankroll of $460,356.
Hughes and Gamester teamed up earlier on the card in Race 1, winning with 4-5 favourite Laughagain Hanover in a time of 1:58.3. They followed up with another victory in Race 9, where Mac Anover captured the win in 1:57 at 4-1 odds.
