When Minnesota senator Dick Day announced last week that he was leaving the legislature to lead 'Racino Now' for the racino cause in the state, he indicated governor Tim Pawlenty had said he would sign a bill
if it passed the legislature. Pawlenty has now set the record straight.
In an article by the Star Tribune, Pawlenty was quoted as saying, "we've said, and I'll repeat, we're not interested in going down that road again, and I've said that many times."
The governor went on to say, "I just don't think that expanding gambling is the way to go for Minnesota. Senator Day's comments, I'm not sure what he's referring to."
