Brown Matches His Own Record

A four-win performance on Tuesday at Kawartha Downs helped Gord Brown match his own track record for the most number of wins at the Fraserville, Ontario oval in a single season

.

Brown, who originally set the record in 2008, will have a golden opportunity to set the bar even higher on Saturday’s final day of racing for the 2009 season.

Brown registered the record-equaling win in Tuesday’s ninth race with the Mark Winacott-trained Mystic Factor, who stopped the teletimer in 2:00.2. His other trips to the winner’s circle came with Modern X Ample (2:00.2), Thavage Boy (1:58.3) and Stepaside Larry (1:59).

Santa Claus will be paying KD a visit on the final night of live racing, Saturday December, 19. The track will also be hosting a turkey dinner on the main floor from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at a cost of $12 per person. Kawartha will be closed the following week.

The track's 2010 season of live racing will begin Saturday, January 2 with a 1:00 p.m. first-race post time.

Racing for January and February will follow the following schedule:

• Tuesdays -- first-race post time 4:15 p.m.
• Saturdays -- first-race post time 1:00 p.m.
