The damaged roof of the Agridome at the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition was in the midst of being repaired, but a significant glitch in the process has now thrown the endeavour off course. The organization’s outgoing general manager, Steve Pottie, has said that the timetable for the repair job is now up in the air.
Commenting on when the job will be finished, Pottie told the Truro Daily News that he has “no idea whether it will be a week, a month or a year."
The NSPE is just a few months removed from the Agridome roof being damaged during a wind storm.
As the Truro Daily News report explains, the Intertape Polymer Group had donated replacement material for the roof after it had heard about the extent of the damage. The donated material then had to be shipped to Saskatchewan to be shaped, fitted and sewn. The material then arrived back in Nova Scotia, where it was realized that it would not fit due to the improper size.
Pottie was also quoted as saying, “it’s not great news.”
