Niagara Series Underway At Woodbine

Thrillionaire stamped herself as the filly to beat in this year’s Niagara Pacing Series for three-year-old fillies with a dominant 1:55.2 victory tonight for driver Sylvain over a sloppy racing surface at Woodbine

.

The other $20,000 split went to Allamerican Tout who upset at odds of 10-1 for driver Rick Zeron in 1:54.3.

That daughter of Dragon Again-To The Manor Born overcame a post-nine start in the opening division and got away in the pocket through an opening quarter of :27.1. She followed in second spot the rest of the way before tipping out at the top of the stretch and drawing off to win by more than six lengths.

Queens Alibi, a 79-1 shot, landed the place spot with Your Raider Girl finishing third. The winner returned $23.40 for the win.

It was the fourth win of the season in 22 starts for Allamerican Tout who is trained by Chantal Mitchell for the M T Pockets Stables of Pompano Beach, Florida. The lion’s share of the purse boosted her seasonal earnings to just over $50,000.

In the second division, Thrillionaire dominated her rivals from start to finish with a wire-to-wire score by three lengths at odds of even-money. Mid Western Jatelo survived a three-wide battle for the place spot over Smashbox.

It was the second straight victory for the daughter of Astreos - Apaches Beauty who had recently captured the Autumn Stake Final at Woodbine in 1:51.2. It was also her eighth win overall in 22 starts this year for the Ben Baillargeon trainee who is owned by Gilles Plourde and Karen Kroeger of Gatineau, Quebec.

The win vaulted her over $73,000 in seasonal purse winnings.

The second leg of the Niagara Pacing Series will go postward next Monday night from Woodbine.
