Tobins Brownie will look for some afternoon feature glory on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has 13 sashes starting at 12:30 p.m. (AST) on Saturday with the $3,700 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace hitting the track in Race 12.

Tobins Brownie (To be driven by Marc Campbell) has rail control for trainer Earl Watts and owners Brittany Watts, Sandra Weeks and Erroll Burgoyne. The Stonebridge Terror lass was second last week to Rosetown Mary (Corey MacPherson), who has post four in Saturday’s Fillies and Mares Preferred.

Post two this week goes to Acefortyfour Dome (Jason Hughes) with Shake N Blake (David Dowling) from post three and Sugar Bowl (Gilles Barrieau) with post five.

The Post Time Picks puts Tobins Brownie on top.

“We loved the way Tobins Brownie raced last week drafting all the way for the deuce. It looks like a similar trip could be in the works and with the way she can sprint home she could reach up and grab the gold.”

The program also features the second leg of the Joe and Steven MacRae Memorial Fall Series.

The first $4,500 division is in the first race with Starship Glyde (Adam Merner) the top choice from post eight for owner Windemere Farms of Springvale.

The other $4,500 Horses and Geldings division lines up in Race 8 as Poplar Artie aims for three straight. He leaves from post three for driver Campbell, trainer Lenny Myers and owners Liam and Matt Myers of Stratford.

The $4,500 MacRae Memorial Fillies and Mares divisions are in Races 4 and 6.

Race 4 has Sagali (Mark Bradley) looking for her third straight for trainer Philip Kelly and owner The Sagali Six Stable of Charlottetown. She's drawn post two.

The second female split in Race 6 will see Southern Heart (MacPherson) try to double up with rail control for owners Elmer Campbell and Jackie Cooper and trainer Ron Matheson.

The Prince Edward Island Standardbred Horse Owners Association (PEISHOA) along with the Prince Edward Island Harness Industry Association (PEIHRIA) will conduct second chance draws after Race 4 for turkeys and gift cards.  There will also be special ballots and a ballot box available at the starting gate for anyone donating a gift for the stuff the starting gate campaign for a chance to win a turkey.

After the sixth race, there will be a special non-wagering match race between Santa and The Grinch. The PEISHOA will make a $500 donation for Toys For Tots right after the match race. The Shepherd stable and ownership team will also be making a holiday presentation after Race 9.
