For the second week in-a-row the $34,000 Preferred Trot at Woodbine Racetrack went to Charmed Life for the tandem of driver Jody Jamieson and trainer Dave Menary.

The hard-closing campaigner utilized her off-the-speed skills to perfection once again en route to capturing her eighth win of the season.

Jamieson tucked into an early five hole with Charmed Life while a host of foes took turns on the lead. Fearless Man and Samira Hanover battled to the quarter pole in :27.1 before the latter worked her way to the front, and she came under quick pressure in the backstretch from Slip Into Glide.

He led the field for just a few strides, however, and eventually gave way to a backstretch blasting Daylon Magician. That career winner in excess of $1.7 million cleared to the top without much of a tussle and he took the group through middle intervals of :56.2 and 1:24.1. Jamieson was on the move first-over with Charmed Life before the field traveled into the final turn, and that duo was on even terms with Daylon Magician turning for home. Charmed Life muscled past the leader and drew clear to win by 1-3/4 lengths over Daylon Magician, with third prize going to Catch The Dream.

Menary Racing Inc, Brad Gray and Michael Guerriero own the four-year-old daughter of Majestic Son-Christina M, and the partnership has watched her assemble an 8-3-4 record from her 24 trips postward this season. She’s banked in excess of $268,000 this year and more than $718,000 to date.

On the undercard ABC Muscles Boy extended his winning streak to six-in-a-row thanks to a first-over score in 1:55.1 for the tandem of driver Phil Hudon and trainer Joe Cirasuola.

The three-year-old son of ABC Garland-Muscles Pride watched Headsaregonna Turn and Ragazzo Dolce take turns on the lead through fractions of :27, :56.4 and 1:25.2 before taking matters into his own hands. ABC Muscles Boy edged away from Ragazzo Dolce coming off the final turn before drawing clear to win by 1-1/4 lengths over Dreamfair Bogart. Taking home third prize was Aggressive.

Cirasuola owns the former claimer who now boasts an impressive 8-3-5 record from 22 starts this season. Unraced as a rookie, ABC Muscles Boy has stashed away $57,507 in earnings to date.
