Alberta harness racing legend Tajma Hall will be the special guest during the second annual Standardbreds Forever Day, this Saturday, December 19 at
Northlands Park.
The track record holder (1:50.3) at Northlands, Tajma Hall follows in the steps of As Promised, who was honoured last year during the first Standardbreds Forever event. Improving off of a successful first edition, the Dec. 19 afternoon program (Post time 1 p.m.) will offer a full slate of activities and promotions:
-FREE pony rides in an indoor stable
-FREE Tajma Hall poster - signed by trainer JF Gagne - to the first 250 fans (starting at 1 p.m at the Players Centre)
-$1 Hot Dogs and $1 Pop
-Meet Tajma Hall in an indoor stable with an opportunity for pictures
-A trip for 2 giveaway to the North America Cup
-Draws for framed pictures of Somebeachsomewhere, Admirals Express, Hana Hanover
The prize giveaways will happen on the second floor near the Players Centre. Tours to meet Tajma Hall and enjoy pony rides will also start from the Players Centre.
A joint production courtesy of Orianna Scheck and Northlands Park, Standardbreds Forever Day will also feature two three-year-old stake finals (ASHA Breeders and Brad Gunn). "I’m very passionate about this industry and extremely proud of this day," said Scheck. "Once again we are honoring one of Alberta’s greatest athletes Tajma Hall.

This horse is an Alberta legend. He's raced against the best in Western Canada his entire career and in my short time in Alberta, he's proved to be one of the best horses I've ever seen on a race track. Congratulations 'Taj'!
