It has been reported that a pro-racino expansion group in upper New York State called ‘Destination Saratoga’ has been launched.
An article by Your News Now – Hudson Valley states that the group is funded primarily by the Saratoga Casino & Raceway, which is already home to slot-machine gaming but is looking to land a license for further gaming expansion at its location.
The report explains that the gaming expansion law passed in the state last month, even though 57 per cent of the Saratogians that voted were not in favour of gaming expansion.
The article has quoted group spokesman Dan Hogan as saying that the raceway is hoping to build a “Saratoga-style” casino and not a “Vegas-style” casino, adding “there is a difference.”
