Following a disqualification in the featured $24,000 conditioned trot on Monday, Dec. 11 at Woodbine Mohawk Park, White Tiger advanced to take the victory.
White Tiger (James MacDonald) set every panel in :27.4, :57.3 and 1:25.4 before sprinting home. Speeding from sixth, Sermon (Tyler Borth) jumped ahead to win by a half length in 1:55.1; however, a miscue in the stretch led to a placing in the featured trot. White Tiger advanced to the win, Sermon was placed second and Locatelli (Chris Christoforou) was third.
White Tiger is owned by Thestable White Tiger Grp and trained by Dominic Gladu. The seven-year-old Muscle Massive gelding earned his sixth win of the season and 24th career victory. He moved his lifetime earnings over half a million at $505,296. As the even-odds favourite, White Tiger paid $4 to win.
As MacDonald and White Tiger stopped to get their picture taken following the race, Woodbine recognized MacDonald in the winner's circle for his $10 million seasonal milestone that he achieved on Saturday, Dec. 9.
