Two strong fields highlight stakes action this weekend at Northlands Park in Edmonton, AB.
Eight different trainers have horses in the $70,000 Heritage final for three-year-old pacing fillies, which will head to the gate on Saturday.
The list of fillies includes APs Money Maker, Doober Hoozzitz, Weareverigo, Promise Me Amoment, Outlaw Like A Lady, Rossridge Dynamo, Silver Princess, and Noel Noel.
APs Money Maker most recently won a Heritage series elimination on December 6. The filly has pushed her career earnings over the $226,000 mark. Doober Hoozzitz took the other elimination that same day.
The $50,000 Rocky Mountain final on Sunday presents a bit of a problem for Kelly Hoerdt, who has got four colts eligible for the final. By rule, only three can start.
Given the situation, Hoerdt will be checking his horses closely prior to the entry deadline and will have to decide among Strong Signal, Life of Rocknroll, Klear Cut Kid and Major Domo, as to which three go to the gate and which one stays in the barn.
Other Rock Mountain entrants include Kg Mattmajor, Neal Diamonique, GTs Triple J, Avalon Promise and Timberline Court.
Timberline Court has had a good fall meet, having won a division of the Albertan on October 18, along with an elimination and the final of the Black Gold series. GTs Triple J won the Albertan final on October 25.
