From the second tier, Sweet Ana Hanover secured a stalking position before brushing to the front approaching the final turn and cruising to a two-and-a-half-length victory in the $9,300 Fillies and Mares Preferred 3 Handicap Pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Tuesday, December 10.
Woodmere Wyldstyle cleared command from pylon-starter Lady Oxford past a :27.4 first quarter with Sweet Ana Hanover sitting close in third. The five-year-old Dragon Again mare opened her margin on Lady Oxford passing three-quarters in 1:27.2 and maintained her lead through the stretch, pacing an added distance in 2:05.3 as Bryn Baroness blasted from last and recouped eight lengths to finish second. Woodmere Wyldstyle took third.
Owned by Overseas Farms Ltd., Sweet Ana Hanover won her sixth race from 22 starts this season and her ninth from 43 overall, earning $87,475. Jean Renaud drove the $18.40 winner for trainer Julie Walker.
