Tajmeallover pushed her career earnings past $200,000 thanks to a come-from-behind triumph against the boys in Saturday’s $10,000 Open Pace at Northlands Park.
Fresh off her win in the $50,000 Lady Elements at Fraser Downs late last month, Tajmeallover got away fifth for driver J.F. Gagne and watched Blue Star Admiral slice out sensible panels of :28.1, :57.3 and 1:27.2.
Still sitting next to last heading into the final quarter of the six-horse affair, Tajmeallover uncorked a :28-second final frame to soar past her foes for the 1:56.3 decision. It was 2-1/2 lengths in arrears to runner-up Appellate, with Blue Star Admiral fading to finish third.
Sent off as the even-money choice in the featured tilt, Tajmeallover posted her 13th win of the 2016 campaign for Gagne and partners Peter Van Seggelen, Carl Warnaar and Joe Tinelli. The homebred, who hangs her harness bag in the barn of trainer Marjorie Dumont, is a 28-time winner to date.
